Fall Training Conference Rescheduled to January 14–15, 2026

Due to the ongoing government shutdown, The Coalition for Common Sense in Government Procurement’s 2025 Fall Training Conference: The Revolutionary Federal Market has been rescheduled. The conference will now take place January 14-15, 2026, at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA (same venue). This change ensures the fullest participation from our government speakers and provides an opportunity to deliver the same high-quality programming, engagement, and collaboration that define Coalition events.

Federal Agency Contingency Plans During the Shutdown

Each Federal agency is responsible for posting a contingency plan which covers shutdown operations immediately following a lapse in funding, expected number of furloughed and exempt employees, the divisions or job functions of those who are furloughed or exempt, etc. The Coalition has updated its Government Shutdown resources page with agency plans.

New FAR Companion Guide

As part of the “Revolutionary FAR Overhaul” (RFO), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Council has published a new FAR Companion document to “assist acquisition officials in exercising their discretion within the recently rewritten FAR parts.”

CMMC Phased Implementation to Begin November 10 

On Wednesday, the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) final rule for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program was published. The rule finalizes the Defense Department (DoD’s) plans to include CMMC requirements in DoD contracts. Implementation will be in phases over three years which will begin November 10, 2025.
